Vietnamese Evangelistic Outreach

We praise the Lord for His work and grace in our ministry at Vietnamese Evangelistic Outreach (VEO), Stockton (CA) so we may proclaim the Gospel among the growing Vietnamese community in Stockton and the surrounding area.

VEO Mission Statement:
Bringing people to Jesus and growing them up in fellowship and maturity in His family. Equip them for ministry in the church and mission to the community.

VEO Church Activities:

• There are about 15- 25 people attending regular Sunday Service. On special occasions about 50-70 people attend.
• Sunday service at 12pm, Sunday School at 1:00pm
• Wednesday at 6:30pm, youth Bible study
• Saturday: Visiting members and friends in the community.
• Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter service, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Lunar Vietnamese New Year, annual retreat, annual picnic. These are opportunities where we invite friends and the un-churched to come.
• Youth summer camp, hiking in Yosemite National Park.
• We had a booth ministry at Vietnamese Spring Festival (Lunar New Year 2009, Year of Ox) at the Ball Room, city of Stockton. Youth had a fundraiser to sell some cookies and Viet. Cheø, sweet bean soup. This opportunity helped us reach out to the un-churched people. This event celebration included the Pastor who was invited to give 3 minutes of greetings to Community in the day of new year.

Workers:

• At the present, there is a new care team, Secretary, Treasurers, Committees and Pastor.
• We are looking for a youth leader to work for youth.

Reaching Out:

1. Advertisement in Lang Weekly Magazine for Vietnamese community.
2. Join in all special events among the community.
3. We have Vietnamese language classes for youth from the community, studying 2-4:00 p.m. on Sundays. This opportunity, gives many people the opportunity to know our church and hear of the salvation through Christ.
4. We help file the immigration application forms for the community.
5. We are interpreters at hospitals, offices . . . for those who can not speak English.
6. We encourage members to share the Gospel with friends.
7. We encourage members join the other small groups during the week days and participate in the work of the congregation.

7 people accepted Christ and 5 new members were baptized in 2008.
