Emmaus House provides a safe harbor for women and their children seeking immediate relief from a threatening situation. In a secure and child-friendly environment, trained and nurturing staff supports and assists a woman with her immediate concerns for safety, shelter, food and clothing. Emmaus House also has on-going resources and access to community networks providing opportunities for women in a time of transition.

Emmaus House provides:

24-hour crisis hotline and phone screening (877-778-7978)
In-house counseling and referrals for counseling/ therapy Emergency food & safe temporary shelter during time of transition Medical referrals and advocacy Emergency transportation Court and social advocacy and support Referrals for legal assistance with restraining orders/custody disputes Community activities and other referral services After school homework help/tutoring for children Onsite computer lab for letters, resume writing, etc.  

Emmaus House seeks volunteers to assist in the following positions:

1. On-Call Child Supervisor 2. After School Club Facilitator 3. Story Teller/Child Readings 4. Individual Tutor/Mentor 5. Activities Coordinator 6. Kids’ Club Facilitator 7. Children’s Birthday Party Planner 8. Head Volunteer Coordinator 9. Legal Advocate 10. Office Assistant/On-call Support 11. Newsletter Designer/Editor 12. On-call Ride Share 13. Adult Peer mentor 14. Teachers: ESL, BAsic Computer Skills, Life SKills, etc.
