Last summer Calvin Crest ministered to 1829 campers and 2269 participants. These numbers encompass children, youth, adults, families, and seniors. The rest of the year, many came for the Women's Retreat, the Hispanic pastors' retreat, Men's Retreats, "Sno-Go's", Sierra Splendor, and many more events. Calvin Crest has been well used since it was established in 1954, and 2008 saw a lot of improvements and new additions, from replacing roofs, to bringing the kitchen up to or beyond Board of Health requirements, to new walls and doors, to landscaping. More improvements and expansion are planned to keep providing a place of significant faith experiences. Through the years, thousands of pastors, youth leaders and missionaries have responded to the call to servant leadership as campers or staff at Calvin Crest. Endowments, bequests, and investments made by Presbyterians in the past have made the current ministry possible, and we need to invest for current and future generations. The frequent requests for scholarships and the increased costs of running the camp make increased financial support a necessity to enable as many as possible to attend.
