What makes a teen Bible study missional? Instead of youth coming to the church building across town, this study goes to where they already hang out. In the mall next to West Sacramento's new high school, adults from Trinity Church meet at a Subway sandwich restaurant (boys) and a Starbucks Coffee store (girls) to connect with kids where they are (spiritually and physically).
God does amazing things through these twin Bible studies - one for boys and one for girls. Teens who attend the Bible study will spot their friends walking by and invite them in for a sandwich or a drink. These groups have grown rapidly and are producing fruit. Some of the youth have also begun to attend Trinity's youth group and monthly service events.
The only expenses we have are food (the church provides it for the youth), staff time for Dan Meyerpeter, Trinity's part-time youth ministry director, and a few Bibles. The funding comes from Trinity PC's mission budget, donations of Subway and Starbucks giftcards, and from you! Trinity PC would love to add more of these missional study groups as resources become available.
