On Sunday, February 1, 2009, a handful of people met at the pastor's home and New Hope Presbyterian Church of Elk Grove, California, was born. On March 8, 2009, they started meeting at the Holiday Inn Express in Elk Grove and now have about fifty people currently attending. They now meet in the Elk Grove Senior Center. The NCD has participated in outreach events, co-hosting a fundraising dinner for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life as well as hosting a booth at the annual Western Festival of Elk Grove. They will also be supporting the Relay for Life event on May 30 and New Hope's band will be part of the day's events.
Pastor John Snyder and the Steering Committee are very grateful to God for his many blessings. William Carey said, "Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God." New Hope is focusing on the power of Jesus' resurrection to do the impossible. They know without Jesus and the power of his Holy Spirit, they can't do anything.
The current needs for NHPC are: funds to offset renting costs as well as hiring an additional staff person to assist with children and youth, a sound system, and a projector with a Mac computer. Your help is very much appreciated.
