The Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter of Davis (IRWS), is a community-based effort enabling member congregations to provide cold-weather shelter and hospitality on a rotating basis to persons who are homeless in the Davis community.
Goal: Provide food for families and individuals on the edge in West Sacramento.
Goal: Needs are great and ongoing.
In partnership with the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus, Fremont Presbyterian Church (Sacramento) leads a coalition of seven congregations in a wholistic ministry to the Shekkacho people of Southeastern Ethiopia.
Goal: Connect with teens, introduce them to the Bible and to Jesus Christ by loving them and feeding them!
What makes a teen Bible study missional? Instead of youth coming to the church building across town, this study goes to where they already hang out. In the mall next to West Sacramento’s new high school, adults from Trinity Church meet at a Subway sandwich restaurant (boys) and a Starbucks Coffee store (girls) to connect with kids where they are (spiritually and physically).
Goal: To launch a growing, vital, healthy, congregation in the fastest growing city in California
New Hope Presbyterian Church is a new church being formed by the Presbytery of Sacramento in the fastest growing city in California.
Joining Hands Sacramento is a project of the Sacramento Presbytery in conjunction with the PC(USA) Hunger program which connects 10 different presbyteries with 10 international partners for support and solidarity projects in various countries.
Goal: Reach out to Latinos in the West Sacramento area and build a church that reflects the diversity of the community.
In partnership with Sacramento Presbytery, Trinity Presbyterian Church is working to bridge language and cultural gaps that divide God’s people. Led by Rev. Tina Torres, we are building a Latino ministry that will eventually be part of a bilingual and multicultural church.
