Westminster House offers off-campus housing for UC Berkeley students in two facilities accommodating 175 students at full occupancy. It has a variety of programs and activities intending to connect the campus community with Jesus the Christ. It encourages personal and community spiritual growth through Bible study, worship, fellowship and service. Opportunities are provided for students and faculty to witness and act through advocacy, seminars, conferences, and travel to third world countries to work with the poor and oppressed. An underlying objective is to grow tomorrow’s leaders by encouraging personal spiritual growth and social commitment through residential community. Additionally, Westminster House intends to bring a thoughtful and Reformed Christian voice into the pluralistic university setting. During the summer, 2008, Westminster House sponsored an 8-week program for students coming from all over the world to learn Arabic. This, in turn, led to opportunities for hosting a Muslim-Christian dialogue on campus.
