Kyros provides leadership within the Presbytery of San Francisco, its churches and the broader national religious communities to create healthy power relationships, prevent misuse of power, and protect those at risk of abuse. Its outreach extends to the secular domain as well. Among its many areas of focus are child abuse prevention, clergy misconduct prevention, sexual harassment prevention, creating safer congregations and training in effective educational outreach and training for others as well. Kyros has developed a number of training materials, which are available on their website. Other areas in which Kyros’ expertise is applied include clergy self-care, cybersex issues, screening of ministry candidates, responding to allegations of abuse by clergy or congregational members, de-escalating congregational conflict, and maintaining congregational health in crisis.
